Tinctures are steeped for long periods of time and are highly concentrated. Because of their high concentration, you only need to take a few drops at a time, usually in a little water or juice. Why use a tincture over a capsule? The answer is simple-you have control over your dosage.
A capsule comes in predetermined amounts - 200mg, 500mg, etc.
When taking herbal tinctures, you start out taking a few drops, usually about 10. Then you listen and watch your body for an hour or so and
see how you feel. If the desired effect was not achieved with 10 drops, then you take 10 more (please do not exceed recommended daily doses on packaging). You have complete control over how much or how little of the herb you put in your body.
